Cain’s punishment

Here is an interesting essay from a rabbi about the punishment which God gave to Cain for murdering Abel.
I always find it fascinating to hear/read Jewish interpretations of Jewish Scripture. This article is part of a series, which I will now have to read the rest of.
I haven’t read the linked article, but speaking of Jewish interpretations of Scripture, when I was trying to figure out whether such things as the number of days given for the Flood was symbolic or not, I was recommended Jewish commentary on it.
I was lazy, however, and did not do it.
But Brian, how do you remember who killed who?
Those were good articles (the one you linked to, and the previous ones on that site).
I haven’t read the previous ones, yet. I expect them to be pretty good…
Didn’t you use to reject the stuff I sent you from jwr?
I don’t recall doing that, dtg. However, I do not have perfect recall, as we all know.
Ugh. Looking around on the JWR site, I see that they have a link to something from Ann Coulter. So, I suppose it’s quite possible that I may have rejected something that you sent to me from this site.
But it wouldn’t have been because it was from this site, or because it was “Jewish.” It would have been because it was wrong.
Yes, Mom: You are the ultimate source of dtg’s comment about the who-killed-who mnemonic.
Hee hee. It does make me laugh to think about it.
Me: “Sometimes I have trouble remembering in the Cain and Abel story, who killed who.”
Mom: “I always just remember it this way: ‘Cain killed Abel.’”
Ha!
Well, your mom IS smarter than you…
