A word of advice and an apology
Posted by Brian September 13, 2005
First the advice. If you are walking to your car in the morning with something in your hand (like a bowl of pasta, or a book), and you suddenly remember that it is trash day: DO NOT put whatever item you are carrying on top of the car before you take the trash can to the curb.
Fortunately, this morning, it was only a book, and I noticed it fall, and was able to retrieve it from the street.
Now, the apology. I was working on a post with the pictures that both of my readers are waiting for last night. However, the major power outage in LA knocked out the server which hosts this website, so I couldn’t post anything. Sorry. I hope to post them today.
I love the random selection of the example of the bowl of pasta.
It’s not a random example.
The last time I did this, my lunch ended up all over the street!
I was hoping you’d have before and after pictures to illustrate your advice
Hey, Stephanie!
The bowl wasn’t a pretty picture. It was a glass bowl, so not only was there pasta everywhere, but also broken bits of bowl.
I actually didn’t notice the bowl fall at the time. Only later, further down the road, did I remember that I had put the bowl up there. I drove back to look, but the traffic was pretty heavy, and most of the glass looked like it was off to the side, so I just left it. Was that bad?
