Accordions at church

Sweet!
Occasionally we have guest instrumentalists at church. I’ve just learned that this Sunday the Meshugga Klezmer Band will be there. “Klezmer” is a type of traditional Jewish music involving accordions and clarinets. Apparently one of our parishioners is a member of the band.
But what’s also cool is: another member of the band is Peter Miller, a famous Jewish Little Rock lawyer. He’s famous for his enormous smile and his extremely cheesy “if you’ve been injured…call me, Peter Miller” commercials which are ALL OVER the TV here.
On another note, does anybody remember the scene in the kid’s room in the movie “Fargo”? The dad is standing there talking to the son very seriously about how his mom has been kidnapped, and we see in the background that the kid has a poster on his door of a polka guy with an accordion, labeled “The Accordion King”. That always cracks me up!
Heehee, somehow it is just really difficult to envision how an accordion could come up with sacred music.
I think a Jewish band would be extremely fun to get down to. . . . in movies where a Jewish couple is getting married, they always seem to be having so much fun at the reception.
Of course, most non-CoC weddings are probably lots of fun. (No dancing or drinking at CoC weddings, you know. Do I sound bitter? Because what I wanted at mine was to have a little Irish dancing, but did we get it, noooo. . . .)
