Thank goodness for Arizona!

Finally, a state has done the right thing.
Is it too much to hope that this means that a few people are starting to realize what a true “pro-family” position is? Gay people aren’t going to stop forming families and having kids just because the conservatives don’t like it. Gay families are here to stay. So the real pro-family thing to do is to support these families, not try to pretend that they aren’t really families at all.
The Evangelicals I work with are a bit tense today, esp. when I pointed out the “social issues” losses they took in South Dakota, Missouri, and most esp Arizona. Not a happy group.
The election overall favored conservatism, not liberalism. Conservative Democrats won because they were conservative, yet not Republican: Republicans lost because they moved to the left and sold the country out on immigration and the war. They deserved to lose. I’m not thrilled with the coming apocalypse courtesy of Jack Murtha and Nancy Pelosi, but I’m feeling satisfied that the GOP got what it deserved.
