Hey, those signs were pretty funny. What are you doing for lent this year? I’m not doing anything, too lazy I guess. That’s bad, huh? :( And on another note, how’s the house painting going, and how are you holding up?

    Hey, Mom.

Theoretically, I am doing the following:
    1. Abstaining from meat on Wednesdays as well as Fridays.
    2. Singing in the choir at church until Easter.
    3. Hosting a bible/discussion group at my house on Thursdays.

However, nobody has signed up for the discussion group. And I forgot and had a turkey sandwich for lunch today. (But I’ve been doing Fridays since before Lent, and I’m doing OK there.)

Laziness is not the best quality to have (I have it in abundance). However, Father Ed pointed out in his sermon this Sunday (the first in Lent), Lent is not a requirement. Lots of Christians get by without it. :)

The painting is getting off to a slow start, but it’s going OK. I picked colors called “Toy Tank Green”, “Navajo White”, and “Brick Dust.”

Yes, I’ve “gotten by” several years without observing Lent, so I guess one more won’t hurt anything. :) Those colors sound very interesting. I would like to see your house when it’s finished. Maybe you could send me a picture.
